Can FileCM manage emails ?
FileCM is designed to work with all Microsoft office applications and is fully compatible with Outlook. Emails are automatically captured with attachments into the database and can then be deleted from Outlook reducing the amount of email stored in Outlook folders

How does FileCM security work ?
FileCM can take on the security settings from Active Directory and so reduces the need to load individual users. Records and documents can be secured at any level of the database from user group level all the way down to document level.

What are the MINIMUM specs for FileCM ?
FileCM needs the following as a MINIMUM to operate successfully. IBM Compatible, 16 bit Colours, 800 x 600 resolution ,Pentium 500 Mhz,40 MB free space . The system will function with Windows 95/98/Me or Windows NT Workstation 4.0 (SP3 or greater)or Windows 2000/XP. At least 128 MB of memory is required for the programme.

What is the maximum number of users that FileCM supports ?
As FileCM is designed to be scaleable there is no limit to the number of users that can be deployed on the system.

How is FileCM deployed ?
FileCM is designed to be scalable this means that it will operate as a stand-alone from a single Windows PC, or leverage off Microsoft Windows platforms and 3rd Party technologies to provide large-scale deployment solutions over Web environments

How can I map FileCM to autopopulate metadata
This is a simple process that is achieved through the use of Office Extensions which allow FileCM to fully integrate with Office. I get a no FileCM server registered message
If you receive this message and have upgraded or installed a new version then Go to Start – Run and fire the following command Regsvr32 <FileCMAPI path> (this is usually the location where FileCM is installed) Example: regsvr32 “c:\programFiles\filem\filecmapi.dll” This should rectify the issue. If you have not upgraded or installed a new version then the user is not registered as a user on FileCM. Add the user in the Security Set up module

I cannot access FileCM web or remote client
First confirm FileCM is added in the Component service and that FileCM web is created in IIS.Users who are not a member of the COM+ will have no access to the application. Add the user in the COM+ group and ensure the appropriate priveleges are allocated

Invalid Security Database Error message
This would occur if FileCM cannot locate the database or the schema in the database is invalid.
