How does FileCM security work ?
FileCM can run with NTUser and NTGroup logins or FileCM Logins using the same security principles as Microsoft SQL Server. FileCM group assignment is similar to Microsoft Windows group to user assignment. FileCM Classes simply provide a way of packaging permissions and assigning them to FileCM Groups.
FileCM assigns users (in the form of NT User, NT Group, FileCM User) to FileCM groups which control access the FileCM functions (register, search, workflow ). All records in FileCM are assigned a Security Class. Each FileCM group can have permissions (view, edit, delete ) assigned to a class and hence get access to a record. As with windows if a user is assigned to multiple groups the user simply is given the accumulated assess of those groups.
